How many others do this?

My DS RF in a Britax MA installed with lower anchors and tethered driver's side outboard. I have buckled the seatbelt on both outboard and center lap/shoulder belt and put them into locking mode.

I read recently about children reaching for the seatbelt which was unused to install their seats and wrapping around their necks - a strangulation hazard. I had done the outboard previously - I added the center one yesterday as he was actually reaching the belt and unwinding it.

Anyone else practice this?

I don't have a need to because ALL of the seat belts have seats installed in them. :)

But, my DD who sits behind my DS's Radian, has managed to play with the excess tether strap from the Radian, even when I had it all wound up with a rubber band around it. So, now I have to try to put the excess tether strap under the Radian, which isn't too easy, but I was so worried when I saw her playing with that strap and I don't know how else I can make sure that she definitely can't get her hands on it.

My daughter's MA is RF with LATCH, too. But my car has a slot on the wall of the car to stick an unused seat belt in, so I store it there. It's a little plastic slot where you can stick the buckle tongue. Her arms aren't long enough to reach it, anyway, and there is no center seat, so there are no other belts nearby.

I make a point of doing so for our seats installed with LATCH or if there is an easily reachable seatbelt in an adjacent seating position to my toddler. I was also taught to recommend this at seat checks, and we taught a family who came through my course's seatcheck to buckle up the unused seatbelt for their FF toddler whose seat was installed with LATCH.

I had the seatbelts on each side of him buckled, but I didn't think of locking them. Now he likes to put his teddy bears in them though.
