DS2's (5 yo & about 43 lbs) Marathon just expired so we are moving one of the harnessed carseats down to him (Evenflo SecureKid 300) and got DS1 (7.5 yo and 45 lbs) a HBB (Evenflo AMP) for dad's car. The kids aren't in his car as often and this got me to thinking, when they aren't in the seat, what stops it from becoming a projectile in an accident and how do you counter this?
The Evenflo SK can be used as a HBB booster and we expect that we will be converting to the HBB mode at some point with these so I looked through the Manual for the EFSK and it says to NOT use the latch hooks and car seatbelt at the same time. That said, can you loosely use the Latch hooks to secure the seat for when it is not in use? I KNOW without a question of a doubt that DH won't think to seatbelt it in when the kids aren't there.
What about the EF AMP? How do you secure that when the kids aren't in the car?
TIA!
