My husband and I will be flying for the first time with our kids next week, and again next month. We were planning to take our Size4Me for DS2 (age 4, 40 lbs) to use on the plane, but I just noticed that the FAA says that they recommend kids under 40 lbs be in a CRS and over 40lbs to use a seatbelt. Is this something airlines enforce? We'll be flying Southwest, if it matters. We'll need our seat when we arrive at our destination, as we'll be renting a car...and I really don't want to check it, but I guess we could. The other option, I suppose, is that we could ship a carseat ahead to my parents, and carry-on a booster for DS2 for the hour-ish ride from the airport to their house. What makes the most sense? Are there other options I'm not thinking of?
