Convertible car seat recommendations for 1998 Volkswagen Beetle

Hi,

I have a 1 year old and am looking to upgrade my infant car seat to a convertible car seat. I'm looking for recommendations that will fit and install safely for my 1998 Volkswagen Beetle.

Hi and welcome to car-seat.org! It can be slow around here on the weekends, but I'll bump you up in hopes that someone has some experience with seats in your vehicle.

I found that the radian worked really nicely in a beetle, both RF and FF. I would order the angle adjuster with it if you ever need to put someone in the passenger seat as it did put the passenger seat very far forward (prior to the AA being available we had two RF in radians and my poor very tall husband was in the dashboard!).

There may be others that work well now, but that was definitely the best option when I was looking in 2008-09. If you are ever in need of a combination seat later the evenflo sureride fits nicely as well and is one of the few that can be extended as tall as it will go in that car.

Great info, but I think you mean the SecureKid (combo), not the SureRide (convertible). [emoji5]
