New York car seat laws

I looked up the law, but here's my question. My daughter is on vacation in New York with her 6month old, hubby, and his whole family. She just sent me a message that said they don't allow car seats on the shuttle. I realize the law does not require them, but can they legally stop her from using one? I'm assuming it's the hotel shuttle bus, since they've been there a couple days.

As far as I know, there are no laws here forbidding car seat use on shuttles. I think the most likely scenario is that the hotel employee(s) have misunderstood and interpreted "car seats are not required" as "car seats are forbidden." Here is the seat belt law FWIW. In Section 9 it says that it does not apply to "taxis, liveries, and buses other than school buses," but it doesn't say that child seats are NOT permitted. But neither does it say that parents have a right to use car seats if they so choose.

I might threaten with a huge lawsuit, should anything happen. But I expect that having a parent bring a car seat on board and be firm about it will probably result in the hotel letting it go on board.

I suspect they don't allow them because there are probably no seat belts and therefore no way to secure them n

Hmmm...I'll ask her about seat belts later when she face times me. They're out and about sightseeing right now.

It was a regular Sprinter van with seat belts. She said she put her in the Tula and buckled herself up. I'm actually sick to my stomach thinking about it. I told her to tell them the law does not prohibit her using a car seat in the van and threaten to sue if they refuse to let her use it and anything happens to the baby. It's an infant seat and they have the stroller, so would be taking the seat out and popping it on the stroller.
