Hi and welcome to car-seat.org. :D The car-seat.org Admin noted you're posting from outside the U.S. and Canada while manually approving your account registration. Consequently, the info. I'm going to post here from the LATCH manual about retrofittable top tether anchor locations may not be applicable to your vehicles because the LATCH manual's vehicle info. is culled from vehicle manufacturers of U.S. and Canadian market vehicle models. Fingers crossed it might be useful info. for your cars as well, but you'll need to cross check your owner's manuals for your cars for top tether anchor retrofit positions, and also check with your local Honda and Mazda dealerships and/or higher up at the corporate offices for Honda and Mazda in your country to verify the retrofittable locations and any cross-compatibility of parts info. posted here from the LATCH manual.

The LATCH manual indicates U.S. and Canadian pre-2001 model year Honda CR-Vs have two 8mm weld nuts on the ceiling for retrofitting top tether anchors for the outboard rear seating positions (the rear passenger side and the rear driver's side). There is no retrofit for the CR-V's center rear vehicle seating position. The Honda top tether anchor retrofit part number for its retrofittable U.S. and Canadian market vehicles is 82410-SE3-C01, called a "plate assembly" by Honda, and detailed install directions are in the vehicle's owner's manual rather than accompanying the top tether anchor retrofit part kit.

The 1999 Mazda MPV is not listed in the LATCH manual other than a note indicating the MPV was not manufactured for the 1999 model year in the U.S. or Canada. There is info. listed in the LATCH manual for retrofitting the 1996-1998 model year U.S. and Canadian market MPVs, and also for retrofitting the 2000 model year U.S. and Canadian MPVs, which may or may not be relevant to your 1999 MPV. U.S. and Canadian market 1996-1998 model year MPVs have three weld nuts on the vehicle floor behind the third row vehicle seat for retrofitting each third row seating position with a top tether anchor. The Mazda top tether anchor retrofit part number is LB82-57-77X for 1996-1998 models. The top tether anchor locations for the third row outboard seating positions in 1996-1998 MPVs are also designated for use by the second row outboard vehicle seating positions provided that the third row seating is unused and folded down. If a second row outboard carseat's top tether anchor strap is too short to reach from the second row to the retrofitted third row outboard top tether anchor, MPV owners should contact the carseat manufacturer to see if a top tether extension strap is available.

2000 model year MPVs in the U.S. and Canada are retrofittable with two top tether anchors for the second row outboard seating positions and have two weld nuts on the floor behind the vehicle seat. There is no retrofit for the 2000 model year's third row. The Mazda top tether anchor retrofit part for the 2000 MPV in the U.S. and Canada is Mazda part number LCY2-57-77XB-05 for gray, or LCY2-57-77XB-80 for beige.

We have a '97 CRV and we had a top tether anchor installed at our dealership. They had to cut into the ceiling "carpet" to attach the anchor to the weld nut.
