Only when your child has outgrown the full back booster. They outgrow the full back booster when they reach the height limit on the seat (ears extending above the top of the booster).

The benefit to the high back booster is the side impact protection it provides. Plus it is just easier to use since the seatbelt is already positioned correctly.

Only when the child has outgrown the fullback booster but still does not fit in a seatbelt. This usually happens between ages 8-12.
