is this product safe to use on car seat

I am going to be buying the Peg Perego 4-35 as soon as it is out but it doesn't look like it has a very substantial canopy.

I've been looking for products and came across this:

does anyone have any experience with this? would this be safe to use?

I don't see any potential problems with that. It's mostly aftermarket items that go on/behind the straps that can affect fit.

The only thing I can think of is flammability. Everything on a car seat meets specific flammability requirements. That product appears to be replacing the original canopy and may not meet those same requirements. I'm not sure if it's something to consider or not. People use blankets in car seats and toss blankets over canopies. So I don't know. Just thought I'd mention it.

The only concern I have with that product is that it is likely not flame-resistant, but neither are blankets laid on a canopy, so it isn't any different.

While I don't think it poses a hazard I don't think it will work either the peg because how the canopy attaches. I however don't think the pegs canopy is all that bad

Also, the new Peg is very sleek looking. I kinda think adding one of those accessory canopies would look that great. I'd pick up something like this to have on hand instead http://uppababy.com/accessories/ub-gear/cabana/ It's UV protective, breathable compared to a canopy, easily collapsible and protects from bugs too.

The flammability thing could be an issue, but like you said, a blanket isn't either so i guess you have to take a calculated risk.

As to it not fitting, I don't see that being a problem - i am willing to risk that I can make it work. As to look, I am not really buying the Peg for the look - it's the features I want. It's totally personal preference but, I could not see myself using the Uppa baby one as it is just not my style.
