as I was picking my son up from kindy today I noticed a van with a whole lot of children in there...one was a baby in capsule forward facing!!

so I approached the lady who was getting one of the children into a car seat and said to her "excuse me I dont want to come across as a busy body but the capsule needs to be rearfacing. I basically told her if she was in an accident the baby would not be protected.

she said she had no idea and thanked me and changed the capsule to rearfacing.

i coulndt walk by and not say anything I would hate for the lady (she was a grandma type figure) to be in crash and something to happen to the baby.

I'm glad you were able to help! I really don't understand why people don't read the manuals and do the best they can for the safety of their children.

How funny, the same thing happened to me yesterday in front of our daycare! Luckily the father told me his son doesn't actually sit (or fit) in that seat anymore, instead sits in the FF seat right next to it and I felt kinda embarrassed as I knew his son wouldn't fit in the SN22 anymore as he's a big kid and also saw the FF seat... but I just couldn't not say anything just in case....

I'm sure he thought I was off my rocker. I hope they didn't have him in that FF when he still fit... He didn't offer an explanation of why they had it in his car FF and I didn't ask...

I've also read another thread on this here, I didn't realize it was a common mistake to turn an infant seat FF.
