Carseat for heavy baby and ERF - Canada

so it looks like my almost 6 yr old may have more time left in her seat that we thought, my parents asked if they could have that seat till it expires in 2 yrs. Leaves us to get 2 new seats.

Brtiax frontier for our car for tall, slender child.

However the baby is huge, almost 18-19 lbs, almost 7 months and 27 inches tall, we want to do ERF till 3 or 3.5 yrs if we can.

I do not like the Diono as it is not really an all in 1 seat so to us it is pointless.

What you need is a convertible. One that rear faces, then forward faces. The all in 1's by Safety 1st, Eddie Bauer, Cosco (all the same company by the way) make terrible boosters anyway and won't rear face as long due to rear facing height limits on the seats.

I'd take a look at the Diono Radian, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio convertible and people have been liking the Evenflo SureRide although I haven't personally tried it.

Note that the Radian does have a booster mode but it's not typically very useful (for different reasons than the common all in one seats). Here's a link to a current thread, that's getting responses right now, with the reasons why it's not so useful http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=263426

Thanks, we know we need a convertible. not sure if our current one true fit due to expire will fit a larger baby. as our first is very slender.

You said you were excluding the Diono because it wasn't an all in one seat. So I was saying, don't worry about getting an all in one, get one that rear faces and forward faces. We must have had a miscommunication.

When is your True Fit expiring? You could certainly use it now until it expires if you want to wait to purchase. If you want to buy now, take a look at the seats I suggested above.

Since you will have a Frontier in the mix you could always pass it to your youngest to use as a booster once the Radian is outgrown forward facing in like 5 years. I'm sure your oldest could go into a backless booster by then - however, since I'm not sure of your oldest's age right now it's merely a guess.

How old is your oldest? Edit -duh, I see she's 6. Yes, I think the Frontier could work as a booster for your youngest - if I'm doing the math correctly.

I would look closet at the Graco MyRide 65, Peg Perego Convertible, or Diono Radian for the baby.
