American Graco buckle recall issue in Canada

The Canadian and American one are the same type and style of buckle, right?

Hate it when companies recall b/c they have to (quota of complaints) vs when they voluntarily do it b/c they know there is a problem, hope that is not the case here.

I've heard of people (and I have experienced) problems unbuckling, but no one has had a problem with it unbuckling ON them (ie while riding in the car the thing suddenly unbuckles on it's own or something serious and/or dangerous/risky), right?

Ugh I have already seen ten different people posting that their seats are recalled (all are Canadian). People are sharing this all over Facebook and garage sale sites not realizing it is only US thus far.

Not being able to remove a child from their seat can be dangerous/risky as well. It depends on the emergency.

We had this issue almost a year ago with ours, Graco replaced our buckles when I contacted them then (with what looks like the same type being recalled now, with a round button) They were pretty good, it started happening right before a long trip, and they got the buckles to me quickly. I almost went and bought a new seat but we got the new buckles the day before we left.

"*if* any Canadian seats are affected". That'd be funny if it wasn't so dangerous. I had 2 MyRides, both original buckles (large, round, button at bottom) that got stuck frequently, seats had never been eaten in. First batch of My Rides to come to Canada in fall 2009. I've got a video from another tech here showing that type of buckle getting stuck. I'll see if I can get to posting it today.

Hmm my myride buckle has gotten stuck a few times. Just the other week when I got home I realized one side was undone but I am unsure if it clicked in I was more careful the next time. I think I will try and get them to give me a new buckle, the nautilas I have has never had this problem.

Not certain if Graco says this buckle was recalled in the USA but it came out in 2009 in Canada and the USA recalls covers DOMs for all of 2009. I don't know if USA and Canada had the same buckle at that point.

The buckle in the video isn't mine. It belongs to another member here. I had two seats with the same buckle, one stuck almost right out of the box.

This is the buckle on one of my MyRides, not the one the stuck on us but it was pretty difficult compared to the same ones on my Snugride 32 and 35. The recall includes both of my seats.

I'd like to know as well as I gave my 2010 Nauti to a friend for their son. It has the button that you push down on which is defiantly recalled. I used the buckle for a year with no problems at all.
