    spica car seat

My daughter is having a total hip reconstruction next week and I have been told to get a spica car seat. Is there anywhere in Canada I can get one? Motion specialties does not carry. She is 2 years old and almost 19 lbs

I am actually dealing with a family right now with a little guy in a spica

What seats do you currently have?
What your DD's weight & height?
Is she currently rear facing or forward facing?

Do you know how she will be casted?

Evenflo Triumph was recommended from help with other techs on the board, as well as a Diono Radian. The evenflo Symphony was another choice too.

I'm from Hamilton, Ontario and have consulted on three children in spica casts in the past few weeks.

I had great success for a 2.5 year old forward facing in the Graco MyRide. We had moderate success with a rear facing 7 month old in the Peg Convertible seat (baby did slouch a bit - bum wasn't as far back in the seat as it should have been), and wonderful success with a 13 month old in the Hippo.

In my area, both MacKids and SickKids hospitals have the Britax Hippo for rent. Motion Specialities in both Hamilton and Toronto rent them as well.

I also have helped several families who have a child in a SPICA. I am in Toronto if you need any additional help.

If you're out east, I might be able to connect you with somewhere to rent or borrow.

And if you're in SK, I can point you in the direction of an organization that loans the Britax Hippo.
