3.5 years old, 40 lbs, 42 inches - Which carseat for a plane?

We have used a Scenera for previous flights, but he has outgrown this. The flight is ~4 hours from NYC to Mexico in the next month. Will not use it for a carseat when we get to Mexico as we are staying in a resort.

Thanks in advance.

My 3.75 yr old dd has the same stats.
I also used the scenera as a travel seat/seat in secondary car. Main seat is truefit.
Once my dd outgrew the scenera I bought a nautilius. While heavy and bulky to travel with It fits on airplanes.
At around 40lbs kids begin to fit in the regular airplane seat. If you don't plan on needing a seat once you land you might want to consider skipping a seat altogether.
I often use a ride safer travel vest for times when I need a seat to get to and from the airport in taxis.
If you want a harness seat for the airplane, look at the maestro. Lighter and cheaper than nautilus, but doesnt turn into a booster and has a 50 lb limit.

I would get a Maestro. You can remove the cupholders so that the airplane tray can come down. I *think* Evenflo has approved removing the cupholders for vehicle use as well.

Need to correct. 50lb for harness. It can be a booster, but booster it outgrown close to when harness is.
