Retrofitting tethers?

My car ('03 impreza) and dh's truck('03 tacoma) do not have anchor points for when a carseat is RF. How do I request for the installation of these points? Is it even possible? Who shoulders the cost?

It's not possible to have RF tether anchors added, but no worries because you most likely can top tether a RF convertible model in your cars as is, as long as it's a carseat model that allows you to top tether RF.

Only Britax convertible seats and the Sunshine Kids Radian convertible models allow you to top tether RF. You would top tether the RF Britax or Radian to a fixed point toward the front of the vehicle, such as a front seat leg, or a front seatbelt buckle stalk that is directly attached to the floor of the vehicle. You would wrap the D-ring top tether connector strap that's included with the Britax convertible or Radian around the front seat leg or buckle stalk, and then clip the top tether to the D-ring.
