RF Tether

Is it important to have a car seat which allows you to use the tether rear facing? I have the Radian Diono and the Graco Size4Me and I just read that you don't use the tether with the graco, but we do use it with the Radian.

I would be fine using either of those seats (radian tethered and graco not). They are both safe options.

It is important? I guess it depends on who you ask. LOL

There are two schools of thought on rf tethering...one is it's good, and you should always tether a seat rf for rebound control....the other is it's not good, that the tether stops the seat from rebounding fully thereby putting more stress on the child, that the rebounding diffuses more crash forces.

I'd say it's first and foremost important to use the seat as designed by the manufacturer. If you're using your Graco and Diono seats properly, and they're installed properly, then your rear-facing child is very safe whether tethered or not.
