Booster or no booster?

My ten (nearly eleven) year old still rides in a booster most of the time, but he is close to five stepping in some cars. In our primary vehicle however we are having belt fit issues. With a lbb the shoulder belt slips off his shoulder and is too low. Without the booster the belt rides up on his belly. To further complicate things, the shoulder belt attaches forward of the bight and he is skinny so unboostered the shoulder belt isn't snug against his shoulder even though it is in the right place. Is there any way to solve these belt fit issues? Changing seating locations isn't really a great option due to tether locations, rfing seats, and carpool needs.

He is in a lite rider. I wish the incognito was already out! I have been telling my husband for a few weeks that someone needs to make an "in between booster". My daughter has to be in a captain's chair with her Frontier so that it can be tethered and I really don't want to load the 4 mth old through the hatch to put him in the back seat. Sadly, the ten year old has the best belt fit in the front passenger seat.

What vehicle? Can you take out a captains chair and put the infant seat in the back easier?

Maybe you can retrofit tethers in the third row?

My dd has her baby outboard passenger in the 3rd row in a Keyfit. She loads him over the folded down captains chair, then the booster goes in for the 10 year old. Would that scenario work for you?
