Question Frontier 85, harness mode, versatether storage

What is the proper placement of the versatether on the Frontier 85 when no tether anchor is present in the vehicle and the seat is being used in harness mode (child <65 lbs).

Bonus points if you can tell me what page in the manual it's on. I looked for it but can't find it! I can only see where the storage spot is for booster mode, but that spot isn't there in harness mode. Or, well, it's in a different location. It doesn't seem logical to have the Frontier sitting on the tether.

Thanks. :D

The beginning page (4 in SICT manual) showing the features diagram of the seat shows a storage hook down near the bottom of the back of the seat.
Then the section on using latch (page 18 in SICT manual) says to store versa-tether by clipping on the hook at the back bottom of the seat.

I can try to find non-SICT manual online to confirm.

Diagram on page 7 of non-SICT manual but storage description on page 25 of non-SICT manual makes it seem it's on the positioning block, which as you said is under the seat in harness mode.
Hmmm.

I just looked at my manual and played with my FR 85. It looks like it should still be stored in the same spot in harness mode, there's an indented section in the recline block so that it doesn't stick out under the seat. I don't see why else they would have designed the recline block like that.

Well. You can't use tether on a plane. Following lap belt install instructions, it doesn't specify what to do with tether.
My guess would be to pull out all the slack then roll up the webbing and secure with the rubber band.

Lap belt install begins on page 42.
Educated guess, but not 100% guaranteed.

Yup! I like Brianna's photo, too. :)

I actually attached it there first, then kind of scratched my head, wondered whether that could possibly be right when the recline block is flipped forward, thought about the long belt path I intended to use and whether I wanted the seat belt rubbing on the stored tether, wondered whether it should to over or under the plastic shield that goes over the yolk, and then settled on Jeni's solution instead where I shortened the tether all the way and rolled up the excess into the elastic band.

But I couldn't find anything specific & clear in the manual indicating it is or isn't correct to store it on the tether storage spot when it's in harness mode, and I'm not sure it can be assumed since the spot is in a different location. They went out of their way to repeat over and over and over that they recommend the top tether use (and I agree!). But there's no retrofit available for the '93 Toyota pickup we have, so that wasn't terribly helpful.

I was also wondering about over/under the harness shield and the seat belt rubbing on it. I would probably want confirmation from Britax.
