Convertible seat for audi a4 avant?

Hello,

I just bought a radian rxt for my 2010 audi a4 avant, and could not get it to fit snugly (rear facing) either with or without the angle adjuster. I tried it both behind the passenger seat and in the middle. My audi has quite an incline in the rear seats.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just a poor fit? I'm reading contradictory posts, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be grateful ( before I return the thing).

If it's not going to work, could you please recommend an alternative ... My son is 1 year, weighs 29 lbs, and is tall...his graco 35 is no longer comfortable and needs to be replaced. I want to keep him rear facing as long as possible.. Was considering the Britax boulevard 65, as it fits in a friend's vw ( with similar angled seats), but read that I won't be able to keep it rear facing for long.

Many thanks !

I recently was trying to justify getting an S4, so I went down and test fit my seats in it. I didn't try the Radian in the middle, but I was able to get a reasonable install in the passenger rear RF'd with the seatbelt. Are you trying a seatbelt install, or with SuperLATCH? I would think the LATCH install on the passenger side would go just fine based on what I saw in the S4.
If you just can't get the Radian in well enough I found that the Foonf fits beautifully in the center rear spot RF'd. It is just narrow enough that I could have the front seats in any position and it didn't interfere. I don't think the front seats in the A4 are any wider than they are in the S4.

Remember also that the Radian sometimes seems like it's not installed securely enough, but it is if you check for movement at the belt path only. It's such a tall narrow seat that there's a lot of leverage if you try the "shake test" from the top of the seat and it'll feel too loose, but it's designed and tested around the < 1" movement at the belt path. Also, being able to RF tether it helps stabilize the install as well. Can you give more detail about what's keeping it from installing to your liking?
