Question Harness for dog that does not require a belt.

I am mostly looking at the Bergan and petbuckle. It appears as though they both have a limit of 65 pounds for latch. I understand that this is because of the latch limit however I am curious if this also applies to the forward facing tether anchors found in the rear of my van. We normally travel with the third row folded down and would like to attach the harness to the forward facing tether spot that the third row would normally use. Right now my dog is at his lowest weight because he is ill of 75 pounds but normally weighs about 85. If necessary we can put the third row up and he can ride there but I am trying to avoid that if possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I don't know what you drive but I use a bergan with the third row down and connect to the mounts on the floor that the third row attaches to when it's up. My step MIL hooks her greyhounds up to the tether hooks, I have no idea how safe it is in a crash but it does keep them from trying to help her drive.

Ahh! I, for some reason, didn't register the 65lb LATCH limit for this... We have a 100+lb dog (no idea on exact weight... YOU try to get a bullmastiff puppy on a scale!) and while we don't transport him very often, we are very strict about having him restrained. I drive a 2004 Civic... What do I do?!
