Ok sorry I just wrote this and it didnt load.

Its a 2007 white f150 regular cab, and on page 195 of the manual it says "Your vechile is equipped with LATCH anchors for child seat installation at the following positions (LATCH is not available on f 150 Regular Cab)." I thought it was a federal mandate to have lower anchors in at least 1 seating position, or are there some vechiles that are except to this law? Is this a type or do I really not have lower anchors? I could feel a metal plate there with holes in it but my daughters ra has the posi latch with the a rigid connector and wont fit.

It also barely fits under the headrest, and in the manul there is no mention of how to remove it, just how to move it up and down. So right now when she outgrows her RA I dont know what I will do.

We have two 2005 F250 trucks. They don't have Latch lower anchors but do have top tether anchors. They both have bench seats that fold down. I guess that is the problem. But I get good installs with the center lap belt.

Certain vehicles are exempt from having LATCH. Exemptions include vehicles over a certain weight (8500 lbs. if I remember right - the LATCH manual isn't handy at the moment) or vehicles without rear seating positions. There are exceptions to the exceptions though - some vehicles that aren't required to have LATCH may be factory equipped with lower anchors and/or top tethers. Congratulations on your new truck. :)

thanks its a lot easier to drive then the 2002 we had, and i like the light that tells me if the airbag is on or off, but like i said after her ra it will be intresting to see what fits and what installs nicely.

Usually there is a little button under the head rest that you have to push to get the head rest to go back down once up. If you push that button while pulling up it will allow you to remove the headrest altogether.

I am jealous. In my 95 (I know, prehistoric) the headrests are very difficult to get out unless the plastic clips are broken (that are $50 a pair  ). The F150 should still be under 8500lbs GVWR. Mine has a 6250lbs GVWR, but they seem to increase every year. A standard cab truck isn't really considered a passenger vehicle, which could be why it is exempt from latch anchors.

Have fun driving it. I hope you got the 5.4L engine, with may more power than my tired old 5.0L. Good luck with your install.
