Question Santa Fe center RF install "loosening" with use

Hi guys!

I have the Triumph 65 installed RF in center of my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and though I can get a tight install, it seems to loosen after a few uses. What am I doing wrong? It is installed with the lap belt only, and the center seat is only a lap belt, not a lap/shoulder belt. I have followed the instructions in the manual (both car and car seat) to the best of my ability, but I have come to you lovely, knowledgeable ppl b/c it just doesn't seem that a tight install should loosen if done correctly. Anyone with suggestions or particular experience with this car/seat combo, or just this car would be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

It's possible that the latch plate is at a bad angle and is allowing the tail end of the seat belt to feed back through and loosen. I would install as usual then unbuckle and flip the male end of the seat belt half a turn and rebuckle.

Are you twisting the belt stalk uo three times? That can help bring the latch plate down and put it at a better angle. Also are the seats really cushy? Mine are and they compress over time and I have to tighten a little more.

I haven't tried twisting the stalk. I will try that and see. I have the kind of buckle that you pull the belt through the piece attached to the buckle to tighten it - I don't know what that is called though. Maybe someone can chime in and explain the different locking mechanisms that are possible?

Thanks!
