Young Sport and Honda Accord

We just bought a Young Sport to replace ds's Roundabout in my 2004 Honda Accord. DH doesn't feel like he can get a good installation. We've moved it to the outboard and now have it LATCH'd but it still doesn't feel good and sturdy.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Is this just a case of incomptability between seat and car?

Any help would be appreciated.

are you installing it in the recline mode or upright mode? use whichever mode gives you more of a proper fit with the seat (the recline mode may help the seat "match" the angle of the vehicle seatback, if it is somewhat reclined). is your DH basing his opinion on the 1" rule? if he gets less than 1" movement side to side at the belt path with one hand, then it's sturdy enough, according to official CPS guidelines.

in our car, the RYS installs rock solid in teh upright mode, but i think part of the reason why it's such a good install is because the rear outboard seats are pretty sculpted, and the RYS's narrow body fits perfectly into the sculpted shape of the vehicle seat.

I have the same issue using the 3pt belt in the center. I think its just a fit issue w/ the car. I have been able to get it tight enough so that the base does not have wiggle at the belt path, only slight movement at the front of the seat.
