Question Looking for a vehicle

We're looking into getting a family vehicle that would be the safest and best fit for our family. We have 6 in our family plus a large dog. Our kids are 10, 7, 5 and 3, so we still have a car seat and two booster seats. We also want something to pull our mid size camper. We were thinking of a truck, but not sure which would be the safest for the best price for our family.

Any ideas?

I'm thinking a suburban honestly... With growing kids and a large dog... I don't think there are any trucks that truly safely seat 6. Some trucks allow someone to sit in the middle up front with the console up but I wouldn't put a child there w the airbags... A suburban has plenty of room for everyone including the dog and gear, plenty of towing potential, reliable and easy/cheap to work on... Etc etc

I'd love to have one but I don't want to feed it gas wise....

I agree with Suburban/Yukon XL for four kids, a dog, and towing.

I agree with the others.

FWIW - my sister has 4 kids (ages 12, 8, 5, and 3) and she drives an Escalade ESV (just like the Suburban/Yukon) and she loves it. Plenty of room for the kids, their stuff and she regularly tows a horse trailer.
