stroller plan for 1st baby...

i would love some input as this is our 1st baby and we are hoping to make some sensible choices.

we currently are planning to use an infant car seat with a car seat frame in the beginning such as:
Graco Snugride with the Snugride Frame in the beginning (loved the Chicco Keyfit but was bummed that no carseat frame really fits it)

and then get a separate stroller (i'm not really liking the huge travel systems that make me feel like i'm steering a boat)...

Considering BabyPlanet Solo Sport, possibly Rockstar Baby. We tested the Peg's and felt they were very good quality but a little too much than what we wanted.

My husband is tall almost 6ft, I'm only 5'4. Main things we want in a separate stroller are reclining seat, maybe cup holder etc.

Thanks so much!

That sounds like a good plan!

Everyone I know who has bought a stroller frame and then a higher-end umbrella stroller has been very happy.

Many of the higher-end umbrella strollers do not come with cupholders. Some do, but many do not. I wouldn't let that be a deal-breaker, though. You can make-do without it. :)

I bought a Chicco C5 and am really happy with it. We picked it because it is well-suited for tall people. A little lower price point than the ones you referenced.

Also, Combi has a new stroller called the Urban. I would have probably got this one had it been out when my son was born. It weights slightly less than the Chicco and looks like more of a "real" stroller than umbrella. I have not tested it in person though. This is improved from other combis with a longer handle for tall people.

Both run between $90 - $120 dollars or so.

I used a snap n go rather than the snugrider because it moved more smoothly. FYI - my son hates his car seat, so the Snap N go was retired very quickly. I am hoping he will tolerate it in the winter so we can move him around in his car seat.
