Neck Rest advice

Hello,

We just moved my 3 year old up to a Evenflo Maestro and if he sleeps in it his head sags uncomfortably.

Can you recommend a good neck rest for a preschooler?

Thanks

we don't recommend adding after market items to seats, or to be used with seats. They are not tested, therefore we don't know how they may,or may not, interfere with proper use and performance of a child restraint. Head slump is not a safety issue for a 3 year old that does not have special needs (ie trach or positional issues). It may look uncomfortable but most kids don't mind, has your child complained?

He didn't sleep long and for the amt of sleep he did do he was consistently interrupting himself and moving his head. He might get used to it I guess.

A neck pillow that doesn't attach to the seat is not a safety hazard in any way (it won't interfere with the harness, it's not a projectile danger), but getting a kid to have one on when they fall asleep is probably never gonna happen. Some kids can also be taught to turn their heads to a different angle when they are sleepy, I think we used to tell kids to look out the window, so their forehead would be on the wings of the seat, and that holds their head up better. It gets easier as they get older and their head is smaller in proportion to their body (a seat my 2 yo had head flop in was perfectly comfy for my 4 yo, it was an older evenflo with similar wings to the Maestro).

Try telling him to lean his head against the seat when he looks like he's starting to fall asleep. That alone worked for my grandson who was head bobbing during sleeping in the car. He was about 3.5 at the time.
