Thinking ahead

We're flying up to WA this summer. My sister has a RN DS can use when we get there, but I'm not sure he'll still fit. He's outgrown the BLVD by height and last time I had both, he had the same amount of growing room in each. I only have FR's right now so I can't take that on the plane for him and I'm not going to check it. Should I look for a taller harnessed seat like the Sureride or Size4Me and take that or just let him ride in a booster if he doesn't fit in the RN?

He'll be 5 1/2 and has been holding steady around 40 lbs. After working a few wrecks, I'm less and less comfortable with him in a booster.

where in wa and when are you planning a visit? If it's semi close, you could probably borrow a fr from me.

DuPont. We'll be flying into Seattle. :)

I would booster him unless he is not NT.

Statistically he is safe in a properly used booster.

I know this. But after working as an EMT for a little while and seeing a few wrecks where people weren't wearing seat belts or weren't wearing them properly, I'd feel better with him in a harness. He's barely 40 lbs and seems so small in a booster still. He is NT, but he will be in a car with his cousin who he rarely gets to see and I have to remind him to not lean in a booster as it is. ;) It's so much easier to hold c-spine and keep a scared kid immobilized if they're in a harnessed seat. Plus it's familiar to them instead of being strapped down on a cold backboard. Any little thing helps in an accident situation with little ones.
