I am helping a friend with a bus issue. Her son had special needs, is in first grade, and they were given this harness for him to wear on the bus.

Can anyone identify it?

I think it's the 103z, thanks. I was on the EZon site, but couldn't pinpoint which model it was most likely to be.

Here's the situation, trying to figure out the best suggestion/way to help.

This child is in a typical classroom, supported by a para. He is on the spectrum, is rather high functioning but has some specific issues that require the para (related to bodily functions). He was riding the bus, but was 'suspended' in 'punishment' because he wasn't sitting on the seat, he kept getting up.

His mother tells me he rides fine in his booster in the car, does not play with the belt, does not unbuckle, etc.

The school district/bus co just called her one day and said the vest was there and to pick it up. No instructions, nothing. She called the school and they said she has to have him in the harness before getting on the bus, the para will remove it in the classroom and replace it in the afternoon.

This is socially concerning to mom, who has decided to drive him for now. Imagine a 1st grader, in a typical classroom, having to get this on and off in front of his peers and sit with it on the bus in front of his peers? I get the concern.

Mom is ok with a harness or seat on the bus, because she gets that standing isn't safe. No problem with that. So my first thought was a STAR harness/seat system that remains on the bus. It's generally the same bus every day.

First, though, is we need to check on the setup for the EZon...see if they're even using it correctly.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Does the para get him off the bus? and put him on the bus? If so ask that the harness be put on him by the para while on the bus and removed as soon as he get off. My DD used one everyday on the bus in ECSE and now in Kindergarden for field trips.(She is transported to and from school in a harnessed Frontier85 in a school Suburban)

Ezon vest is really simple... Unzip, arms thru big holes on top, zipper in back, zip it up(needs to be snug, we put my DDs on under her jacket.),2 straps go between the legs and snap in back, tighten, there are 4 hooks on the part that stays on the bus seat, 1 for each shoulder, 1 for each hip.

Make sure the bus part is tight on the seat and adjusted before the morning you start useing it.

my son wear this when he was 3years and 4 years. he was to tall for the carseats they had for the bus and i was not ok with my 3 year old being in a booster.
they are pretty easy to put on and take off.think like a coat just backwards. you put your arms though and it zipped up the back. then it hooked onto the buss seat at his shoulders and his hips
