high harness adjustable seat to be shared...

For my summer carpool setup, there are 3 boys, all around age 6. In the prius they'll be Big kid Amp/BubbleBum/Big kid Amp like my school year crowd is.

Both of the other families also have a 3 year old. One family has a Mazda V -- no problem.

The other family has a subaru outback. The plan is for one of the boys to use the 3 year old's harnessed seat while she is with the nanny -- ideally the smallest boy (which I don't think is my son...)

I need some brainstorming about what harnessed seats are likely to work for both an average sized 3 year old an an average sized 6 year old, with a harness that adjusts without rethreading.

The other 2 seats will be a HBB and a bubblebum in this setup, too.

Thanks.

Thanks, all. Mom says that right now, her son sometimes uses his sister's carseat. I'm going to measure torsos and figure it out. I guess if her son is shorter than mine (and I'm pretty sure he is...) I'm going to ask that my DS be in the HBB or the bubblebum for the 2 mile drive home.

Those other seats seem monstrous, and not 3 across in a subaru outback friendly. Also, it doesn't look like they'd give us much more than the summer, so it would be a hard sell to buy a new seat, though the maestro is cheap...

Hmmm.. just measured. My ds has a 16" torso (seated on floor, legs in front, back on wall) so we may have more room than I thought. I guess he's more leg than torso...

The CA is not a narrow seat. Installed with a belt it barely fits in the 40% part of our scions back seat. The maestro is slightly narrower but not a lot and its not a no rethread.
