1 baby, Peg Perego Convertible, tall parents, bad back....selling Pilot

Any suggestions on how I should proceed w researching safety & reliability in a new(ish) car?

As stated in the title, we have 1 baby...no plans for more. Safety & reliability are our foremost concerns (my, how things change....;-)...)...

I don't love my Pilot...too big & too trucky...want something smoother & smaller, but still roomy & hopefully under 25K. We usually buy 2-3 year old cars w 36k miles or less.

Any advice, suggestions?

When you are looking at cars you can look at the crash test ratings at safercar.gov and iihs.org, each of which crash tests cars in different ways. A safe car is your first line of defense... Well that and safe driving.

I will say the Pilot rocks for space and room for child seats. A member here just had 6 kids in seats in her Pilot! :thumbsup: What year is yours? Have you considered checking out the new body style?

The MDX is a nice Pilot alternative but there's less 3rd row room.

ETA: missed that you're planning on one child. Not sure you need the space of a Pilot or MDX then. Maybe an RDX? CR-V? Murano?

My first thought was RDX. So stylish and cute.

In my dreams I'll own one someday. Like when I don't have six kids in my Pilot, and stuff.

The RDX looks pretty close to perfect!

I always liked the look of the Murano, but it doesn't seem as safe or as reliable as the RDX.

I guess I need to go test-driving.
