Height limits on boosters? Figuring out how much room to grow?

(1) Do we actually go with the stated height limit on these or is it really more based on position of shoulder belt guide and ears like harnessed seats? In my experience, for other seats my kids have not gotten near the stated height limit before they've outgrown them by torso height.

(2) Can a child really ride in a booster until their shoulder goes above the belt guide? Because it seems like when I try them, the one that fits well is a bit above the shoulder. To determine how much growing room she has, do I measure from her shoulder to top belt guide or from that belt guide height to top belt guide height?

(3) I know preschool aged kids grow about 1" torso per year. Does that continue for 6-7-8 year olds?

What are the child's stats/age again?

She's 6.5yo and approx. 50" / 46 pounds. I'm realizing that the booster guide heights that seem to work for her (above her shoulder height) and only about 2" from the top height of these taller boosters, but at this age maybe that would last quite a while and maybe that's plenty. She's my oldest, so I'm not sure, and I'd like to have some idea how much growing room we have when buying and choosing a booster. Thanks!
