Adjustable Pedals?

What cars have them? Do they even make them any more?

I'd really like my new car to have the adjustable foot pedals. I'm 4'10  and drive a Tahoe currently. I look like an idiot trying to stay at least 12' (altough i know i'm not) away from the airbag and my feet end up hurting b/c i'm driving on my toes (which I imagine isn't so safe either!)

I don't want a van, truck, or SUV. I just want a car. If the car looks kind of sporty- that would be a bonus. But I guess they dont make cool cars for people with super short legs. *sigh* I was sooo set on buying a 3 and I haven't test driven one yet so maybe I still can, but I'd like to also entertain the idea of getting something with shorter/adjustable pedals so my feet don't hurt and I know I'm not going to be decapitated if the airbag goes off on me.

Maybe I need to market car stilts or something :p

We test-drove a Ford Taurus a few years ago that had adjustable pedals. I liked them (and I'm 5'6"!)

I have them in my 2006 Dodge Ram and I also had them in my 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. Other than those 2 I can't say.

WTF?!?!?! I have a Tahoe and I didn't know that. We bought it used but I didn't even think that was an option on any type of Chevy car! Raawwrr. I would have looked for that had I known. Grr on me!

What year is your Tahoe & what trim level? I think it is standard on the upper trim levels but the LS (base models it isn't available). I have a '05 Z71 Tahoe so it is standard on my trim level.

Adjustable pedals sound wonderful...I'm 5'2" and could still use them.

If you absolutely can't get the adjustable pedals, what about a telescoping steering wheel. DH's Nissan Altima has it and I love it. Just has an adjuster like the tilt adjuster and you push or pull the entire steering wheel out/in.

Ohhh that answers it. I have an 03 but it's a total bare bones Tahoe with 4wd (I actually used the 4wd too! ummm  after I made an ass out of myself and got it stuck in a snow bank at DD's dads house)

I miss the upgraded version. My mom now drives my Impala and it's the LS version so it's got the little radio adjuster on the steering wheel. She teases me all the time about how she can change the stations so easily now. raawwrrr! I miss that thing. I find myself getting all mad when i'm in the Tahoe and the radio station isn't changing b/c i'm pressing this imaginary button that changes the radio. I was driving with it for so long that now i really miss it. :(

Ohhhhhhhh I know a 3 has the telescoping steering wheel. I gotta go test drive one and see just how telescoping this steering wheel is. I haven't ever seen one before. Hmmmmmmm... decisions decisions. *sigh* knowing me i'd need the telescoping and the adjustable foot pedals b/c i'm so short

I'm also 4' 10". I love adjustable petals. I have them in my 05 Pathfinder. I feel much more comfortable driving that car than my civic without the adjustable petals.

I think someone here found fold-away pedal extenders recently... they're aftermarket, so you could add them to any car you like, I think.

The ford F series had them as an option in some of the 2000+ years. If you can't push the brake all the way down with your back tight against the seatback it's unsafe. You could also try pedal extenders.
