Question What is an acceptable way to clean straps?

Pry, I don't know how to search. A friend of mine who fosters is cleaning car seats today. A lot of the babies have significant reflux. How can she clean the straps without compromising their integrity?

Damp/wet wash cloth with warm water & very very little mild soap like dawn or some baby soap. The only time I generally use soap even is if they smell really bad. Most of the time I use water only. Then I hang them to dry outside in the sunshine for a little while & that mostly gets everything out. She can not submerge them. I have used this trick for everything from slightly dirty/sticky straps to pucked on straps. It has always worked well for me.
