How to fly with Turbobooster?

I think I will be getting a Turbobooster for my 4 year old to use in the rental car on our trip up north. I know that it cannot be used on the airplane, but how do you go about bringing it along? Can it be folded up as a carry on or does it need to get checked with the baggage?

TIA!

For a 4-year-old, I would go with a harnessed seat like the Maestro instead, and install it on the plane.

If you must use a booster, I'd pack the back in a suitcase and carry on the bottom. The bottom can be stored overhead or under the seat.

Thank you so much for the suitcase/carry on suggestion! I hadn't thought of that!

She actually has 2 Maestros and her primary seat is a FR85. I plan on harnessing her until she's at least 5 1/2. Unfortunately a booster seat is necessary for us to fit three people in the back of the rental car.

You can remove the arm rests, then put the three parts in a carry-on.

The back can be packed and checked in a suitcase. Make sure you have the seat belt guide along in case your bag is delayed. Or just use it backless with the guide.

The only caveat to this is that OP would need access to a screwdriver to put the screws back in the armrests at the destination.

I bought luggage straps from Target and strapped the Monteray high back portion to our carry on. My five year old carried the bottom portion or we strapped it to the other carry on. Super easy and it never left us
