Rear facing seat in Germany

Hi,

My cousin knows I'm a CRST and has some questions for me. She is a Canadian living in Germany. Her son is about 12 kg and she is looking for a seat that rear faces past 13kg and is having a hard time. The stores she has gone to she is told they only foward face after 13kg.

Can someone give me names of seats, sites, or stores where she can get higher weight rear facing seats?

thanks

Yeah, the RF choices are limited in Germany. It's been a couple of years since we went carseat shopping there, but the groups are much more distinct in Germany.

Forward facing at 9 months is unfortunately the norm in Germany. Multi Tech is available in some places in Germany. It's a great seat but perhaps not a nice fit for all cars.

Sirona is a stylish and nice looking seat. It does unfortunately offer short rear facing time. It's a seat for those who like to RF to 18 months or perhaps two years and then turn forward facing. FF option is also with the horrible shield.

May I please ask what car your friend drives? That would be helpful in providing a better recommendation.

Thanks everyone!
She went with a Britax Max Way which rearfaces to 25 kg she said (I'm very jealous lol!). It doesn't look like a huge seat-- but they are both small people (my cousin is about 5'0 and her hubby not more than 5'5) so I think it should work.

She said it was pricey but worth it for the 25kg limit.. they don't have their own car but do rent one for vacations-- so is this going to be a good fit?

thanks for the help/advice! I have to say I'm super jealous that she could legally get a swedish seat!

Okay then Maxway should last until baby is 8 years old or so;). Joke aside, it is going to last a long time I think.

My own son outgrew it by 115 cm (don´t ask about inches). He is a little bigger than the average 5 year-old, and just about the size of that test dummy that was used to Plus Test the seat by the way

Being 5 and 5,5 tall I don´t think they´ll have space issues in any car. Maxway is super good in cars with long buckle stalks.

Thanks lenats :)
I never even thought about them not needing much leg room (I honestly don't know if my cousin's hubby is even 5'5..

I'm 5'8 so I always think people need legroom LOL
