Question RF convertible that fits in Mustang?

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for a RF convertible seat that will fit in the back of my 2000 Mustang. DS is borderline outgrowing the infant bucket we have and while legally I can turn him FF once he does, I'd prefer to ERF if I can find an affordable seat that will fit.

The Mustang is my daily driver and I do all daycare drop off/pick ups, (which are within 5km of home). Getting a new car is not an option right now.

We're in Ontario, Canada.

thanks for any help!

I have an 04 Mustang that's the same body style as your 2000. (I had a 2000 as well :) ) the only two convertibles I could get in it with the front seat latched in position were the Evenflo Triumph (Advance or 65 model) and the First Years True Fit. I'd go for the Evenflo if your child tends to be heavy for her height and the True Fit for a taller than heavy child. The True Fit will be a better forward facing option in your car due to the lower profile, so keep that in mind as well.

Thanks for the recommendations - I am going to try to get to BRU and test out the True Fit. DS is about 70% for height and 45% for weight so it will probably work well for him.

For the poster above that asked, yes, we have an Safety First Onboard Air bucket seat that worked well - we did a seatbelt install for quite a long time as it doesn't fit as well with the base (but is still do-able), but as he's gotten bigger the seatbelt cuts across his legs uncomfortably.

I don't need the front passenger seat (my ODD needs to sit in the backseat still anyway, and if we go anywhere with the whole family, we take DH's Explorer). I thought by that fact I'd be able to install a bigger seat but unfortunately the slope of the bench and the angle of the front seat, even at full upright, make it super tight.

thanks again!
