I have a 2011 sienna and I am able to get a rock solid install with the long belt path in captains chairs or center of the 3rd row. It helps to have someone else hold the belt out so it doesnt retract while you are threading it through. I actually installed it with the short belt path successfully for the first time. It was a pain and I actually bruised my fingers. I had to make sure the buckles were tilted so that the belt went into the path smoothly and then pull the belt from under the cover while pushing the seat towards the back not down. I also did recline the seat while pulling and then put it back upright at the end for the sbp.

Hello all;

Our family has three Frontier 85s: two design generations of this seat, installed in six vehicles over time, using both the lap/shoulder belt and the latch system. All of the seats have the same issue: the bottom of the seat can move forward about two to three inches (the top is tethered and is secure).

i have contacted Britax about this and sent them photos and even videos. their first suggestion was to recline the vehicle seat, then install the seat, then raise the vehicle seat back up. this is not an option, as all the seats are in the back row and the vehicle seats do not recline, but beyond that it will not address the problem. another suggestion was to twist the vehicle seat belt stalk so the belt could be tightened more. this suggestion raised my eyebrows (would any vehicle manufacturer approve of this?!), but it will also not solve the problem. the problem is the geometry of the seatbelt path through the seat base, which i feel is not designed properly.

if you have a Frontier 85, do you have this problem? the top of the seat is rock-solid, but the bottom can move back and forth about two to three inches.

Having the same problem. Apparently the Latch Strap is just to long to allow the installer the ability to pull it tight without the buckle bottoming out before it is tight enough. The Latch Strap has ample length to allow for proper tightness if it was about 4-6 inches shorter. I consider this a manufacturer defect.
