What do you all think of rigid latch vs latch strap in a side impact? Lots of us have been watching all the crash tests that were posted recently and how much seats move.. Which I realized a long time ago.. But then I started wondering how rigid latch affects that (run-on. There must be a little benefit in some small amount of movement as it lengthens the amount of time it takes to complete the decrease in speed. With rigid latch, I'm wondering if that is eliminated. Is more force transferred in a side impact? I know seats like the foonf have been designed to absorb force in a forward crash but what about side impact? Clearly if the seat didn't move it would prevent the head from hitting the side of the car as easily.. But would the force be greater on the neck?
