Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling 2,598 cases of bagged salad. The product being recalled is Dole Hearts of Romaine coded 0540N165112A or B, with Use-by date of June 26 and UPC 7143000956 due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes. The salads were distributed in nine U.S. states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia).

Pacific International Marketing (“Pacific”) is voluntarily recalling 19 cases of bulk Romaine Lettuce sold at Vons and Pavilions stores in California and Nevada due to potential Salmonella contamination. The bulk Romaine Lettuce was sold in bulk produce bins from July 2, 2012 through July 4, 2012. The lettuce heads are banded with a red twist tie marked “Safeway.”

ITO EN USA requests that Hawaii customers of its canned Aloha Maid Coconut Water with Pineapple purchased since May 16, 2012 return the products to stores for a refund. The product has an "off smell" and should not be consumed.

Out of an abundance of caution for customers, BI-LO is immediately recalling the Southern Home Bacon Ranch Salad Mix and Southern Home Creamy Parmesan Salad Mix from shelves in all stores, including those in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. According to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the reason for the recall is the potential for the product to contain small metal fragments.

Multiple lots of cheeses made by Andante Dairy in Petaluma, California are the subject of a recall and quarantine order announced by California State Veterinarian Dr. Annette Whiteford. The quarantine is based on a determination that a lack of proper pasteurization could have allowed dangerous pathogens to survive in the products. The cheeses were sold mainly to retail markets, restaurants and cheese shops in California, with very limited distribution in Chicago and New York.

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel Aubertine today warned consumers in the metropolitan New York area, including Queens, the Bronx, and Brooklyn, to not consume certain cheese products made by Mexicali Cheese Corp.

CareFusion issued the following update regarding its voluntary recall of its AirLife™ Infant Breathing Circuit. The Y-adapter in affected products could develop cracks during patient use, potentially resulting in a leak in the closed ventilation system and leading to a loss in the intended tidal volume delivered to the patient.

Maquet Critical Care AB and MAQUET Medical Systems USA today issued the following update regarding its voluntary worldwide field correction for its C20, C30 and C40 FLOW-i Anesthesia Systems. The recall was related to a software problem with the MAN/AUTO switch used for changing between manual and automatic ventilation modes.

Mars Petcare US announced a voluntary recall of a limited range of three varieties of PEDIGREE® weight management canned dog food products due to a potential choking risk. Affected product may contain small pieces of blue plastic, which entered the food during the production process. Affected product was distributed to retail customers throughout the United States.

PMI Nutrition International has initiated a voluntary recall of four varieties of the LabDiet® and Mazuri® feed products (Guinea Pig Diet 50#, Mazuri® Small Bird Maintenance 25#, Mazuri® Primate Maintenance Biscuit 25#, Mazuri® Maned Wolf Diet 33#) due to the potential for an elevated vitamin D level in these products. Elevated vitamin D levels can be harmful to animals if fed for extended periods.
