Thoughts on angle adjuster for other car seats

Just to be clear, I'm not going to do this, but I was thinking about what would be the difference in using diono's angle adjuster for other car seats. Is it because it hasn't been crash tested with other seats? Or is it the principle of the thing that we don't encourage use of aftermarket products for seats they were't designed for? I assumed that the angle adjuster (I use one for my 16 month old's Radian) was to simulate a more angled seat bottom. Any thoughts?

Same as all other aftermarket products, it hasn't been crash tested with any other seats therefore you do not know how it would perform.

Nope, no way.

To be honest, I'm barely comfortable using it on Diono seats. Putting something under the back of the base, such as the angle adjuster is used, was an absolute no-no until 6 months ago- falling under the never, ever, ever category. Now Diono says it's okay for their seats, but I wouldn't be so cavalier as to apply the principle to other brands.

Technicalities & "rules" aside, it is very much a single purpose device. I can't imagine there ever being a practical application for it with any other seat, to start with. The radians are unique that they are the only seat with a problem of having TOO MUCH recline. I don't have a problem using it with the radian, I can see how it works and is "ok." But no, I would never consider using it for another seat. Not just because you "can't," but also because....why would you ever even feel a need to?
