Question FF weight limit lower than RF?

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me why on some convertible seats the FF weight limit is lower than the RFing? My guess would be something to do with the force on the harness in an accident? The Britax Mutitech 2 was one I noticed I think.

There's no such thing, at least here in the us. The multitech is a european seat and they generally go from rfing straight to hbb.

The MT is not a 'convertible' as we use the word in the US (not sure about how it's used in Australia or Europe), because it isn't a harnessed forward facing seat. It does have a lower FF weight limit, but that's as a booster, not as a harnessed seat. Though the Swedish model is to go from RF to booster, I often hear people say that the MT is rarely used as a booster, so I think it's just not a very usefully designed booster.

The MT might not have been the best example after having another look. But The Brio Zento states,

Rear facing 0-25 kg (0-55 lbs)

Forward facing with harness 12-18 kg (26-40 lbs)

Forward facing with seat belt 15-25 kg (33-55 lbs)

So the FFing harnessed limit is lower than the RFing. It just got me curious.

addit: The MT '2' does seem to Ff with harness too, again with the lower limit for FFing.
Certified 9-25 kg. (20-55 lbs) rear facing
Certified forward facing 9-18 kg. (20-40 lbs) with harness
Certified forward facing 15-25 kg (33-55 lbs) with seat belt
