no point in buying cheap seat?

Is there much of a difference in the Complete air and the complete air 65?(besides the 50 or 65 FF weight difference) I want to get a new seat for my mom's car for ERF for my #2dd. She is 21 months, 27lbs, 34in, 13.5 in torso. Can't compare her stats with my #1dd because #2 is taller at 21 months than #1 was at 3yrs. I know she will be very tall with long torso(Daddy is 6'6)
I figure if i but a $40 seat now I'll still have to buy a spendier one in a year anyway so why bother with an inexpensive one now...but I don't want to go all out...it is for my mom's car. Any other suggestions?

I just noticed that the CA only goes to 40 in RF : ( She'll be 40 in. befor 3yrs old(about 33 months)(97th % height) That kind of throws a wrench in my thinking.

Some people/techs are okay with using the other rule they have which is head even with shell. But that has to be a parents choice.

If you can get a Complete Air for $40, it's a great buy and you should do it, but yeah, all Complete Airs have a 40" RFing limit.

I think she is saying why buy a $40 (scerena, etc) if she will need to buy a pricier convertible next year to rf longer.
