Question Complete Air Bottom Slots

Can anyone tell me how tall the bottom slots are? I'm trying to decide if I want to replace our MR with something else and I wasn't sure if she was tall enough to use this seat yet. She is 23 inches tall. How would I measure her torso height so I could see if she would fit? I don't have anywhere local to me that carries this in store to try it out.

ETA: The only things I can see replacing her MR with would be the CA or a True Fit. Anyone have any input?

To measure torso height for older children you sit them cross-legged against a wall and measure from bum to shoulder. For a younger child, I would put her in her car seat and stick a tape measure next to her, measuring from her bum to shoulder.

Here's a picture of DS when we first got ours (now, we got one of the very first ones, when they first came out. So this is the 50lb version). According to the note I have attached to this pic, he's 5 months old, about 16 lbs and 27 inches., with a 10 inch torso. The seat is NOT installed (obviously), but it's not upright either - I had it reclined against the couch behind it. If anything, that would have made it worse.

Is that the bottom slots? If so I dont think there is anyway DD will fit.

Yes, those were the absolute bottom. I specifically took the picture so that I could post it on Safety 1st's facebook page (which is why I have his exact stats) ;)

TrueFit gets my vote, but only because I hate the CA.
:yeahthatlove:

I don't hate the CA, but there are enough annoying issues that unless your child is chunky and really needs the 40 lb RF weight limit I would suggest the TF if that will work for you instead.

I haven't measured it either however here is a link to pictures of DD in the CA LX. She is 9 months, 28 inches tall and 18lbs15oz. Obviously this isn't installed and when I did install it, the slot is *just* below her shoulder.

I LOVE this car seat, but it is the only convertible that she has used so I have nothing to compare it to.
