Travel seat question

We already own a Radian and a MyRide for our primary and secondary seats. We are getting ready for a trip to Europe and we need to bring the seat along. It will be used on the plane, in a rental car and possibly in some cabs. I've already ruled out bringing the Radian bc it is too darn heavy to lug around as we are getting on and off trains. I'm wondering if I should try the MyRide or get something like a Scenera or Tribute. Any thoughts? This will be our first time traveling with a new seat.

If the child will fit in the Scenera or Tribute, I would take one of those any day over the MyRide, assuming you'll be able to carry a pool noodle to install.

Yeah, he's little. Just switched him to his convertible this week (10.5 months, 20 lbs, 31 inches). Do you have a preference between the two seats? I haven't been able to find a Scenera to look at in person.

I have a Tribute which I've had difficulty installing on leather seats, but it was very easy to install in everything else with a rolled towel. I've never had or installed a Scenera. The Tribute has a different harness style than the seats you're used to- if you pull on one side of the harness, the other side will tighten. Some people hate it, some love it.

My understand of vehicles in Europe is that not all cars having locking seat belts, and you may need to use a locking clip. Are you familiar with how to use them?

I've used the locking clip before. It may take me a few tries to get it in right, but I can do it. I'll have to check out the tribute in person again to see about the harness. Thanks for the head's up!
