This isn't a crazy thought, is it?

I'm thinking about switching DD to a booster full time.

She turned 6 last month & is about 45lb. She's been in a booster in DH's truck since last spring/summer (don't remember exactly).

We had her PW in my vehicle for a little while (playing carseat switch-a-roo with family visiting) and she did really great in it. The other thing that comes into play is DS is starting to look rather squished in the MA in DH's truck. If DD is boostered in both vehicles DS will be in FR's in both vehicles and we'll just get rid of the MA's (they both expire this year, April & July I think).

So should I make the switch? Or keep DD harnessed for a few more months? (I really should have made a poll )

I switched my 46 lb 6yo's Frontier to booster after her birthday in January because she'd been asking to and she sits so well in her booster in DH's truck. She's been fine, other than having some trouble buckling it herself.

I'd definitely booster her - especially since you need the Frontiers to hand down and since she's already doing well as a booster rider.

How are you liking the Vivo? And I can take your MAs and recycle them if you need a home for them. :)

I'd feel fine boostering her if she's doing well. The only thing that would hold me back is all the snow we've had recently but there is no guarantee we'd be done by April ;) I certainly wouldn't consider buying more harnessed seats for a child who is doing well.

The Once Upon A Child up there also does car-seat recycling but I'd bet you already know that.

I might use the MAs till they are expired (because I hate to see good seats sitting around unused), but if you have no issues with that, boostering a 6 year old who can sit properly would be fine.

The Vivo is working great in the truck! DH said she's even fallen asleep in it a couple of times and it wasn't a problem. I think the problem with the PWSGL is that the shoulder belt guides are more on the back than the sides and that just doesn't work with the where the seatbelt is coming from. In my Saturn I can adjust the vehicle seat more upright & a little forward so that it is a better angle with the guide location on the PW.

I thought I remembered that the OUAC was a drop spot for the recycling. I've been meaning to call or stop by anyway because I have a salvage seat that's been sitting in the garage for a few months. The weather did cross my mind. But if it's really bad we just don't go anywhere because I just get stuck as soon as I back out of the driveway :)

Alright, as soon as I get the cover for her Parkway cleaned and back on the seat we'll do the switch. Christine - I am a little sad because that we'll stop using the MA's before they expire, I love those seats. But DS is really more comfy in the FR than the MA.

Thanks everyone!
