What infant seat has the tallest seat back?

The shuttle 33's internal height is 21.75 inches, which would make it 1.75 inches taller than the via. Also, if the via is indeed 20 inches and other seats were measured correctly, there are several others that are the same size, such as the chaperone and the large sized graco snugride line.

See, according to the database, the OnBoard also measures 20". And yet in actual fit, the Via provided so much more growing room.

I wish I had compared the Via with the Shuttle. That would have been interesting.

So is the t tario/snugride 35 a tall shell? Ds is tall, but he has outgrown or very close to outgrown it and he is only 8mo. It doesn't seem very tall to me.

Yes, it has one of the taller shells. Kids are different though, and some will outgrow it sooner than others.

How is he outgrowing it? By height or weight? My 28" 7 month old's shoulders are just even with the second slots and she has probably 6" above her head in the T-Tario 35. She has a proportionally short torso (her feet already touch the seat back). My 4.5 y.o. son had a very long torso and a GIANT head and he still fit in SR22 at 7 months but barely. Perhaps your son is built like my older one was and is all torso?

He is definitely more torso than legs :) I was just surprised when we put him in (it was our backup seat) & he almost didn't fit by height anymore! This was with the seat installed as upright as allowed.
