Preschool bus iep

I'm not sure if this can be answered here but just a little planning ahead. DD will be in prek 4 in the fall. Her magnet school doesn't bus till K normally but has anyone had it written in an iep for a younger child to be bussed with Star type harness? I would assume they don't bus the little ones for safety/staff issues but I'm not sure if having bussing written into her iep would change that.

I suspect if they've already said they don't provide transportation you'll have a hard time getting that added. You'd need to review the regulations and rules to find out if it's possible that they're required to transport her because she's more than x distance from school or attending a school other than her neighborhood school. My 3 yo is bussed because the neighborhood school doesn't offer the services he needs, and we were able to have it written into the IEP that he must use a safety harness/vest on the bus.

It does seem to me that if they bus the K students, but not special ed/disabled preschoolers, it's somewhat discriminatory.

Our district (and i think this is statewide) has to offer door to door transportation to special needs students starting at age 3. They ride in car seats or a stars seat.

Here too. But then again, they offer busing to regular ed preschoolers as well. They just aren't in harnesses.
