Keyfit/BOB incompatibility

My friend has an older BOB, a new KeyFit, and a new BOB adapter for the KeyFit. The new adapter doesn't fit on the older stroller, though. Does that sound right? Anything that can be done?

She's considering buying an infant seat off CL just for use with the stroller, and then a matching adaptor. If she goes that route, any suggestions on what the best options might be?

Yes the new adapter system is totally different then the old ones, I would have her try the keyfit, I feel like I've seen someplace that people had them fit

She said she read that people have modified the older adapters to work with the KF, but she doesn't want to do it unless it's safe.

the 2005-2010 BOBs had a "universal" adapter that worked with just about anything but Chicco. It was semi-permanent and had to screw on. NBD has them in the stroller section regularly.

Is she running with it? BOB revolution and Chicco Keyfit are practically dress code in my neighborhood. I don't think it snaps on, but it fits snugly enough that it doesn't give me panic attacks when I see the combo (several times a day). I wouldn't run with it, but I'd walk. :twocents: If she's running, the baby is probably old enough to just ride in the stroller without an infant seat.

Thanks, Crunchy! Baby is only 6-8 weeks old. I think she's doing Stroller Strides, so that's just walking, right?

yes walking will be fine, plus there is a strap to strap the seat in

from what i know stroller strides is walking and different exercises

DH runs with DD2 in a KeyFit & an older BOB with the old adapter. We made the same mistake with the newer adapter. It's fine. He just knows to only do short runs on smooth surfaces.

Stroller strides is walking. At 6-8 weeks, babe can sit directly in the BOB. She may want to use a snuzzler though.

FWIW - And I don't judge, but just thought I would put it out there - according to peds, you shouldn't run with a baby until they are 9-12 months old, and the bob adapter specifically states not to run with the carseat in the adapter anyway (something about the center of gravity I believe). HTH!
