Question Stroller "discussion" for older kids?

Ds likes riding in his stroller, we honestly don't use it much but if I take him on my night walks, we are planning a LONG trip at the mall or a trip somewhere the stroller comes with us. It gives ds a break from walking and me a break from ds wanting to look at every single thing or getting cranky/tired. We have a very much :love:loved Baby Jogger City Micro "Thanks to rec's from CS.org " and couldn't be happier with my stroller, I purchased it I think going on two years ago now. Just wondering what is out there now, not that I think buying a stroller for a 4yr old is a good idea, more interested than anything....maybe a little more than I should be.
The micro has a taller seat back at I believe 20 or 21"s..
Are there any strollers out there that are known to fit OLDER kids.
Ds is 42.5"s tall and has a 16.5" torso, he's just about out of his Micro :(...he can use it but it's not As comfortable as it use to be because his head is way up in the canopy part now. It is also a little more tippy then it use to be.

Anyone else use a stroller for their older kids?

Dd is 42.5 but I dont recall her torso. It was 15" a while ago so she is probably more leg. Anyway, we have mountain buggies and love them!

Mountain buggies look neat and if I WERE to get another then I think something as big as bobs appear to be, might be inconvenient. The micro has spoiled me lol

In my experience Bob's are not good strollers for bigger kids because they have a shorter seat back. We have a classic double Baby Jogger and my 48" (torso too tall for the Nautilus) 6year old rode in it comfortably for a 5 mile walk in Nov.

I still use a stroller for my 'busy' 6 yr old sometimes. He's tiny though. 36# and 44". Either the back of the Joovy Caboose (city/traffic situation or LONG shoping) or half of a BJCMicro (really long local walk). The front of the Joovy is getting really small for DD though. She's not much smaller than DS. She's 38.5" and 32#.

DD still gets 'contained' in her stroller on a regular basis because we walk to get DS every day and she's slow. And then various shopping that I need to not be watching her every second. I have a Mac Quest that is fabulous and a BJCMicro single that she loves but I am not as fond of. I greatly prefer the Mac. I find the BJCMicro to be too long and tippy when going over curbs because of the single front wheel area.

OK, that was probably not at all helpful. But I definitely am a stroller user for 'older' kids.

Yeah, its going to make it harder when they no longer fit in strollers. Ds will be riding around in one as long as he can fit and wants to.

Wouldn't happen to have a recent pic of your ds in the elite? Showing his size in it?

Not since May but he hasn't grown, can't figure out how to post the pic so I will just link it. http://flic.kr/p/9ZbzH6 Oh and his hat isn't sitting on top of his head, so it makes it look like that there is less room than there really is.

We have numerous GI issues which complicate a lot of other things and the Elite has been a blessing for him.

Thank you :)
He does look comfy! I like the extra foot room the Elite gives, My Micro gives sufficient room for ds's feet but I don't think he is truly comfortable and as his feet grow that was another concern. Now I'm thinking about selling my Micro to help fund an Elite...hmm.
Do you find the weight of 26.2lbs to much? I would also get a higher weight limit of 75lbs/100 w/storage where as I only get 50lbs with ds's micro that or 55, cant remember. I bet the Elite wouldn't be as tippy as the Micro can get when I'm on bumpier terrain, Ours just started doing this when ds got so close to 50lbs.

I have no problem getting the Elite in and out of my Accord's trunk and I am not a big person by any means.

I stick ALL sorts of stuff in the basket and on the back of the seat! I even rig up his feeding pump (he has gotten a g-tube since those photos were taken) and go on walking trails which are sometimes rather bumpy with it. No issues so far!

I don't remember how long DD's torso was, but we used a Mac Triumph with her until she was 6 for occasional trips to Disneyland. It pushed so well even when she was heavier and she fit just fine in it. She's of average height/weight for her age.
