Any reason I want a 2012 compliant combo seat?

I'm trying to decide between the $90 Maestro and the $120 one. I'm not going to use it as a booster and I'm not going to sell it. Any safety reason that I want the 2012 one instead of the older one? DOMs are just a couple months apart.

Same seat, no plans to sell, loan, or give away? I'd probably save the $30 then.

Only reason I'd get the new one is because the Scribbles pattern is too cool.
