Convince me, yes or no.
Remember moving baby to convertible after the infant seat (if you did that)? It's a big moment.
He changed from a Chaperone to a RF Radian today. (Because I need to put him in the back of the van and the infant seat is too hard to manage back there.) Teacher assisting my son to school today was hit by a car (minor, but still) helping him out of van, so I decided the eldest MUST be curbside.
So...baby in a RF Radian XTSL now.
Pros:
No squishing him into infant seat.
He is now CENTER and was outboard before.
He'd outgrown his Nuzzler anyway.
He is RF tethered (and he's not a newborn so I'm good with that).
Cons:
Not sure if there is EPS foam around his head as in the Chaperone. I should peel back and see where his head is and what's there.
He can't nap and stay asleep (but he never sleeps at night anyway, so this could be good!).
It's a seatbelt install from the ceiling. (Not saying this is bad but it's not rock solid like I'm used to with latch, but it certainly passes all standards of less than 1 inch of movement.)
I set harness at one tightness (nice and snug) and won't be moving it. Ug! It's not easy! And now I have to figure out how to keep him warm with in/out of car. My older kids all have carseat ponchos and we love them! But I don't usually like loose clothing around baby, especially since I can't see him at all back there.
I know I'm just obsessing. Sorry. I keep thinking maybe I ought to use a Pria or something with more pronounced head protection for his (huge) noggin until he fits in the Radian headrest. 29 inches and 19 lbs. right now.
